About Patricia Whitson
Founder and Principal of The Kent College of Hypnotherapy
Hi, I am Patricia and a fully qualified and accredited Clinical Hypnotherapist and Life Coach also using Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Parts Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Approaches.
I am also the Founder of the Kent College of Hypnotherapy which I have chaired since 2001. We help train those who wish to become therapists and have done this now for over 25 years.
I work with most issues including phobias, anxiety, lack of motivation and stress. I have a particular understanding of issues such as depression, eating disorders, social anxiety, emotional issues relating to relationships and lack of confidence as these are issues that I have personally suffered from in the past and have successfully worked on. I am also always open to new approaches.
I have an interest in sports, staying motivated whatever age you are and working with children with anxiety and autistic spectrum issues. I also love teaching, which is why I set up my own Hypnotherapy College!
I achieved a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy with distinction from the British Medical Hypnotherapy Examinations Board and have also been accredited by Professor Mathew when in honorary contract with the Department of Psychosomatic and Behavioural Sciences at Kingswood Mental Health Centre, Maidstone.
I also work with Applied Kinesiology, meridian tapping and management training.
My main aim and purpose is to help encourage people to be more responsible for their health, and emotional wellbeing and to teach hypnotherapy and healing to as many people as possible through courses, books and one to one sessions.

Why Therapy is Important
We need a certain amount of stress to encourage us to attain our goals, however, we want this to be directed towards positive action. By learning how to use your mind in the right way through therapy, both your conscious and your subconscious mind can find safe routes and solutions, leaving you free to enjoy your life, be successful at what you want to achieve and allow your body and mind to function in harmony.
Doubts and uncomfortable feelings are there to encourage you to look at all your options, to help you make the correct decisions. We need to listen to these feelings as they give us valuable insight about ourselves. For any performance or action to be effective you first need a clear thought and positive mind set to make the most of your potential, whether it be in the sports field, public domain, exams, work, relaxation or everyday life. Therapy will help you tune into your own intuitive voice and allow you to make decisions for you, and to take control of your own life.
